Senior Lecturer in Media Studies (two part-time posts)

Working for the School of Arts and Media based in Brighton, this is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team of media academics and researchers. You will have a good (1 or 2:1) degree in media studies or related discipline, a postgraduate qualification/PhD or equivalent research experience in the field of media studies and a PG certificate in Teaching and Learning at Higher Education (HE) or equivalent. Essentially you will need experience of curriculum development and teaching in HE in a range of the following areas : media theory ; visual culture ; new media and globalisation. You will also need an understanding of academic and award standards and experience in the development and design of undergraduate and postgraduate modules.  Competent IT skills and effective use of IT for teaching, learning and administration are also essential. Both posts are fixed term until July 2012, one is 0.8 full-time equivalent and the other is 0.4 full-time equivalent.

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Broadcast Media

Working for the School of Arts and Media based at Hastings, this is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team of media academics and researchers. You will have a good (1 or 2:1) degree in media or a related discipline, a postgraduate qualification/PhD or equivalent research experience in the field of media and extensive experience of teaching at degree and postgraduate level in television and radio. You will have professional experience of working with print, television, radio or online media and have active quality research in the field. Essentially you will have up to date, sound working knowledge and experience of the subject including current research, industry standards, codes of practice, training council accreditation, professional/vocational developments and a range of generic skills required.
