Lecturer – Online Journalism

We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic lecturer in Online Journalism in the Creative Industries Faculty. The successful applicant will have expertise in information and data management for journalists as well as journalism-related aspects of new media and the internet. The successful applicant will deliver the year one, semester one unit in Digital Journalism, and contribute to online journalism teaching throughout the program. The On-line Journalism Lecturer will coordinate the Journalism, Media and Communication foundation unit ‘Media in a Globalised World’ and contribute to other foundation units as required. The successful applicant will have a research profile in the impacts of new media (including social media) on journalism, and be able to contribute to the development of journalism research in this key area, working with others in the discipline and the faculty in what is a growing area of priority. The Lecturer (Online Journalism) will join a small but dynamic discipline team and will be responsible for curriculum development, coordination and teaching as well as research and engagement with the journalism profession.

Lecturer – Journalism, Media and Communication

The Creative Industries Faculty wishes to further build its capacity in journalism, media and communication by providing an opportunity to an exceptional early career academic. We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic lecturer in journalism, media and communication. The successful applicant will be able to offer teaching and contribute to research in one or more areas including lay-out and visual design, web design, visual communication, photo- journalism. In addition, the successful applicant will have a research profile in the field of design and visual communication or related areas, with specific emphasis on the journalistic media. The Journalism, Media and Communication Lecturer will join a small but dynamic discipline team, make a major teaching contribution to this discipline and contribute to the strategy for development of journalism research at QUT.
